By default all of our Windows 2003 Servers are set to automatically download and install updates. However, if you would like to manually install critical updates you can follow these steps.
Log into your Windows 2003 Server through Remote Desktop with your administrative login.
Select Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update.
If this is your first time running Windows Updates you may need to install the Windows update client. Just select "Install" when prompted. Once you have installed the client, the Windows update website will be displayed. To install critical updates select the Express button.
The Windows Update client will then download and install all updates. Once completed you should be presented with the results which will note any failures by any of the updates to install.
